In more detail

Codes 0 to 31 (and 127) are control characters such as newline and tab; 32 to 126 are the printable characters. Every ASCII text is also valid UTF-8, which is why the two coexist so easily.

Example

The letter A is 65 (01000001), a is 97 and the digit 0 is 48. Convert text to codes with Text to ASCII Converter and back with ASCII to Text Converter.
