Blood alcohol content (BAC)

Blood alcohol content is the percentage of alcohol in the blood; the Widmark formula estimates it from drinks, body weight and time.

For an 80 kg man after 3 standard drinks (14 g of alcohol each) and 2 hours, the estimate is about 0.047%. Real BAC varies with food, metabolism and body composition; never use an estimate to decide whether to drive.
