Running a Bingo Game
Give each player a different card. The caller reads numbers in the random order from the caller's sheet (or draws them from a bag) and players mark matching squares; the free centre counts as already marked. The first player to complete the agreed pattern, such as a row, column, diagonal, four corners or the whole card, shouts "Bingo!" and the caller checks the card against the numbers called.
For word bingo, you need at least as many different words as squares (24 for a 5×5 card with a free centre); more words make cards more varied and games longer. Teachers often call out a definition instead of the word, turning the game into vocabulary practice.
