Broken link

A broken link is a hyperlink whose target no longer loads, usually because the page was moved or deleted, and returns an error such as 404.

Broken links frustrate visitors and waste crawl budget. Fix them by updating the link or by adding a permanent redirect from the old address to the new one. Check HTTP Status Codes Cheat Sheet for what each error means.
