Dog years

Dog years convert a dog's calendar age into a rough human-equivalent age; the old rule of multiplying by 7 has been replaced by better models.

A 2019 study of DNA methylation proposed human age ≈ 16 × ln(dog age) + 31: a 5-year-old dog is about 57 in human terms, and a 1-year-old about 31. Large breeds age faster than small ones, so size-based charts give different answers.
