Resolution and PPI

Resolution is the number of pixels in an image (such as 1920 × 1080); pixel density (PPI) is how many pixels fit in an inch of a screen or print.

A 6 × 4 inch print at 300 ppi needs 1800 × 1200 pixels. A 27 inch 2560 × 1440 monitor has about 109 ppi. More pixels do not improve a photo taken at low quality.
