Subtitle files (SRT and VTT)

SRT and WebVTT are plain-text subtitle formats that pair lines of dialogue with start and end times.

The formats are nearly the same, but SRT writes times with a comma (00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,500) while VTT uses a dot, and VTT files must begin with the line WEBVTT. Browsers play VTT in the HTML video element.
