Plain Text or Regular Expressions?
With regular expressions off, whatever you type in Find is matched literally, so characters like ., * and ( need no escaping. Turn regular expressions on when you need patterns, for example \d+ for any number, or (\w+)@(\w+) to capture parts of an address.
In regular-expression mode the replacement also understands \n (new line), \t (tab) and \\ (a backslash). Use Use result as input to chain several replacements one after another.
