Macronutrients

Macronutrients are the nutrients needed in large amounts: protein and carbohydrate (4 kcal per gram each) and fat (9 kcal per gram).

A 2,000 kcal target split 30% protein, 40% carbohydrate and 30% fat is 150 g, 200 g and 66.7 g. Alcohol adds 7 kcal per gram and is not counted as a macronutrient.
