What a Good Invoice Contains
A clear invoice names who is billing whom, carries a unique number and a date, describes each item or service with a quantity and a price, shows any tax separately, states the total and when and how it is to be paid. A sequential number makes invoices easy to find and is required in many countries; the Next invoice button clears the client and items and raises the number for you. Payment terms such as net 30 mean the money is due thirty days after the invoice date, and the due date is worked out for you.
Tax rules differ between countries and between kinds of sale, so this tool lets you name the tax (VAT, GST, sales tax) and set its rate, and leaves it to you to apply the right one; it does not check that an invoice meets the legal requirements where you work, such as tax registration numbers or mandatory wording. Amounts are rounded to the currency's smallest unit at each step, and a percentage discount is applied before tax. Treat the result as a convenient document, and check the rules that apply to you.
