SERP Snippet Preview - See How Your Title & Description Look on Google
SERP Snippet Preview
Preview your search result and check whether it will be cut off
A Realistic Preview
See a search result with the blue title, the breadcrumb-style URL and the grey description, on desktop or mobile widths.
Pixels, Not Characters
Search engines truncate by width. The tool measures your text with Arial metrics and shows the pixels used against the limit.
Where It Gets Cut
The preview cuts your title and description at a word boundary with an ellipsis, as search engines usually do.

How Google Truncates Snippets
Google shows a title of roughly 600 pixels, which is about 50 to 60 characters but fewer if your title has wide letters like W and M, and more if it has narrow ones like i and l. Descriptions are cut at roughly 920 pixels on desktop and much less on mobile. That is why a character count alone can mislead, and why this tool measures the width of the text instead.
This is an estimate. Google may show a different title from the one you wrote, rewrite the description, change its fonts and widths over time, and shorten the URL further. Treat the preview as a guide for writing snippets that are complete at a glance, and put the most important words first so a cut does no harm.
Key Takeaways
- Desktop and mobile: Switch device to see the different widths.
- Same result everywhere: Widths use fixed Arial metrics, so the numbers do not depend on your browser or fonts.
