Almost every country except the United States, Canada and the Philippines uses the ISO 216 A series. Its trick is a 1 : √2 aspect ratio, so cutting a sheet in half across its long side gives two sheets of the same shape. A0 has an area of one square metre (841 × 1189 mm), and each next size halves the area, rounding down to whole millimetres. Convert units with the Unit Converter Hub, and use Image to PDF Converter to put images on A4 or Letter pages.

Handy facts
- A4 is 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 in); US Letter is 215.9 × 279.4 mm, so it is wider and shorter. Printing an A4 document on Letter, or the reverse, needs "fit to page".
- Two A4 sheets side by side make an A3 sheet; an A5 booklet is an A4 sheet folded once.
DL (110 × 220 mm) is the usual business envelope: an A4 letter folded in thirds fits it.
- Image pixels = inches × dpi. 300 dpi is the usual print target; 72 dpi is the legacy screen figure for PDF units (1 point = 1/72 inch).
